Join Sarah Guglielmi, Himalayan Institute of Buffalo faculty and transformative yoga educator, for an exploration that will deepen your personal practice and provide new approaches to share with your students. 

By incorporating Chakra and Ayurvedic wisdom, yoga teachers can help themselves and their students awaken pranic flow, deepen their physical and emotional resilience, and tap into the inner strength we all need to thrive in a chaotic world. In this workshop, Sarah will share teaching methods that address a weak core and tight low back, helping students find physical ease and offering a gateway to emotional and spiritual healing.

Morning Session: Core and Low Back Therapeutics

10am-1pm

Explore an expanded view of core and low back strength and stability to share with your students. Topics include common dysfunction in the core and low back, antagonist/agonist muscle pairs, vata subdoshas that influence core stabilization and pranic flow (samana and apana vayus), and the influence of the lower 3 chakras on physical, emotional, and spiritual strength. Expect 2 hours of discussion followed by 1 hour of guided therapeutic asana practice. Handouts of therapeutic sequences will be provided.  Use them for home practice or as a reference to design into your yoga sequences. 

Personalized Ayurvedic consultations with Sarah are available.

An Ayurvedic Consultation can offer unique insight into chronic symptoms and how to support healing through individualized changes to your yoga practice, diet, and daily routine. 

In this 60-Minute session, Sarah will assess your dosha prakriti (ayurvedic constitution), agni (metabolic state), ama (physical and emotional toxic load), and ojas (energy reserve) and how it relates to your current symptoms. Then she'll suggest adjustments you can make to your yoga practice and yoga lifestyle to move towards balance.  Receive a written summary and treatment plan within 48 hours and follow-up email support from Sarah.

Sarah Guglielmi, Transformative Yoga Educator

Sarah Guglielmi MS E-RYT500 C-IAYT is a Professional Yoga Educator and Certified Yoga Therapist who has trained in the yoga lineage of the Himalayan Masters for the past 20 years. A former mechanical engineer, she was drawn to yoga looking for relief from chronic stress and illness. Sarah not only regained her health but discovered a spiritual dimension of life that was richly rewarding. This led her to 20 years of traditional study and practice with the Himalayan Institute under the guidance of Pandit Rajmani Tigunait. She spent 10 years in residence at the Himalayan Institute Ashram and Retreat Center in Honesdale PA and has been in residence at the Himalayan Institute of Buffalo NY since 2013.

For the past 15 years, Sarah has taught classes and workshops on yoga practice, yoga philosophy, and ayurvedic lifestyle. She's been a teacher trainer for the Himalayan Institute's Yoga and Ayurveda Professional Certification programs and an Adjunct Professor at Daemen University. Sarah also works with private clients through her business Yoga Lifestyle Design.

Whether she's training yoga teachers, college students, or private clients, Sarah strives to make the healing power of yoga both accessible and transformative so her students can experience the life-changing effects directly.
